Our mission is to build a just, more empowered and sustainable community through knowledge, action and influence in partnership with others

INYUAT E MAA, popularly known as MAA, is a non-profit organization that promotes sustainable livelihoods and environmental conservation. MAA works with dryland communities by enabling them to diversify their livelihood strategies, build their resilience and conserve the environment. MAA operations are premised on four essential factors that are deemed necessary in enlightening our decisions towards the desired transformation:

  • Changing people’s lives for the better
  • Strengthening effectiveness and participation of the community in decision-making.
  • Designing and facilitating sustainable natural resource conservation strategies
  • Engaging partners and stakeholders to build a solid, demand-driven partnership infrastructure

MAA believes that through capacity enhancement, community investments, promotion of practical and sustainable systems, promotion of strong traditional institutions, and climate services, local communities can become more resilient and better able to address their challenges.

Our Programs

In a few years to come, the world will be in sight of 2030, a do-or-die time for achieving the 17 global sustainable development goals (SDGs). For MAA, this is our moment to rise and move further. To do so, we want to contribute by focusing largely on five global SDGs that we consider most urgent to our constituency. These are: ending poverty; ending hunger and achieving food security; availability and sustainable management of water and sanitation; addressing climate change and its impacts; and enhancing global partnerships. We strive to address these global goals and look further beyond 2030 through our four major entry points:
