Our long-term programs in governance, livelihood and climate resilience have not only enhanced community self-worth, leadership, and commitment to environmental stewardship but have also reinforced their livelihood strategies and their resilience to modern development challenges and trends that continue to shape their future. For the past 5 years, remarkable milestones have been achieved. Read below some of our milestones since 2017.
- Facilitated formation and training of Community Disaster Management Structures in 9 villages.
- Developed and disseminated to local communities disaster management information systems. 890 people from 32 producer groups, 3 village councils, and 3 disaster committees underwent education and awareness interventions.
- Developed and disseminated early warning protocols for community use in 8 villages in the drylands of northern Tanzania
- Facilitated numerous dialogues and training for 890 people from 32 producer groups, 10 village councils, and 10 disaster committees to promote and strengthen community safety net mechanisms.
- 50,000 indigenous trees were raised in more than 18 villages in the greening of environment campaign for schools.
- Natural Resource Management skills training reaches more than 18 village councils annually.
- More than 1,500 men and women reached in climate change mitigation training program in northern Tanzania rangelands.
