MAA Strengthening

Strengthening partnerships: With partners, MAA wants to consolidate its internal capacity for the effectiveness, efficiency and quality of its deliverables. By enhancing its capacity to perform, MAA, in collaboration with other institutions, will be able to acquire the means of implementing its objectives and contribute positively to building partnership for sustainable development as stipulated in the final global sustainable development goal (SDG 17). Revitalizing partnership calls for concerted effort of strong and committed institutions at all levels.  This can only be possible if such institutions are able to work together to mobilize and share knowledge, expertise, technology and financial resources. As we take forward our programs, we will look for connections, synergies and lessons that enable us to enrich MAA and its partnerships and deliver greater impact.

Why we choose to strengthen MAA as an institution?
Goal: To increase competence, efficiency and effectiveness of MAA NGO in achieving envisioned outcomes.

Rationale: MAA’s ability to achieve its ‘vision 2070’ can be limited by the level of its internal competence, efficiency, accountability, and effectiveness to implement and achieve the desired program outcomes. The impact of our limited capacity may further entrench the existing inadequacy of the local civil society sector to support marginalized communities in leveraging support to address challenges and disparities around livelihood options and coping mechanisms.

Objective: To reinforce the internal capacity of MAA in terms of its governance, leadership, management effectiveness, and resource mobilization to successfully leverage support for target communities through our programs.

Enhancing Innovation: MAA acknowledges that times are changing in the developing world. First, on a global basis, development assistance has declined. This may likely diminish the ability of MAA to access development assistance as a major aspect of its own growth and development. Second, it is increasingly clear that new approaches to development need to be invented by organizations if poverty and climate change challenges are to be addressed in the target communities. MAA will have to be armed with innovative ways, supported by modern technology in order to be able to create new niches for itself and the partners. One such venture could be MAA entry into the world of information technology as a means of enhancing its own capacity. We want to invest in this approach for future success of our programs.
